* Edvard Hagerup Grieg (15 June 1843 - 4 September 1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. He is widely considered one of the leading Romantic era composers, and his music is part of the standard classical repertoire worldwide. His use and development of Norwegian folk music in his own compositions put the music of Norway in the international spectrum, as well as helping to develop a national identity, In 1874-76, Grieg composed incidental music for the premiere of Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt, at the request of the author. - Wikipedia.

* Edvard Hagerup Grieg (15. juuni 1843 - 4. sept 1907) oli romantismiajastu norra helilooja ja pianist, Norra rahvusliku muusika rajaja, kelle kuulsaim teos on süit "Peer Gynt". Grieg on kirjutanud 140 soololaulu, klaverisonaate ja -kontserte ning kammermuusikat. Griegi looming on läbipõimunud Norra loodusest ja rahvalikest elementidest.
